Ceramic Coating Application

So, what is Ceramic Coating (Nano Coating)?

Ceramic Coating process

Ceramic Coating is like a second layer of skin over your car’s clear-coat. This transparent layer has a protective purpose and consists of tiny particles (hence the equivalent name – Nano Coating). These particles are so small, when applied to a surface, they seal all the orifices making it water-repellent (hydrophobic), resistant to UV, chemicals, heat, scratches and other pollutants. This protective measure will not wash away or break under cleaning and rain. In fact, Ceramic Coating lasts for years.

What we offer.
Ceramic Coating must be applied by trained and certified professionals. Here at Wraps & PPF you will find exactly that, dedicated professionals with specialized tools and equipment, always delivering a premium quality result.

Debunking some myths about Ceramic Coating

Ceramic Coating offers many benefits for your car. However, because this product is seemingly all over the internet, with countless videos showing mud and liquids being thrown over the hood and sliding off instantly leaving barely a mark, some myths had been born around it. It is important to understand what your money are buying. Therefore, here are 3 most common myths about Ceramic Coating:

  • Myth nr. 1: Ceramic Coating is completely scratch proof!

Coatings rated 9H on the pencil scale offer the highest possible scratch resistance today. It will protect the surface of your car against minor incidents like catching some low hanging branches with the rear of your car or little knocks from bikes. However, it lacks thickness to be able to absorb the impact from a rock hitting your car at high speed or the lack of protection against someone who intentionally wants to scratch the vehicle.

  • Myth nr. 2: Ceramic Coatings don’t require maintenance.

It is not a done and forgotten job. Ceramic Coating reduces the amount of washing and maintenance, but not completely eliminating them.

  • Myth nr. 3: Ceramic car Coatings are permanent.

The Ceramic Coating bonds with the car surface and becomes a hard, glossy layer that you don’t have to apply every month to maintain the look. With a good product and proper professional application, the coating should last at least 2-3 years. It is not permanent, but it is long lasting.

    QUESTIONS ON CERAMIC COATING

First, we prepare the paintwork of your car by decontaminating it, making sure it’s free of dust, mud, and other materials that should note be between the paintjob and the coating layer. After that, we apply the ceramic coating (which comes in the form of a special liquid) on the exterior surfaces of the paint of your vehicle.
We recommend that every 12 months the vehicle is thoroughly decontaminated by removing any road debris and industrial fallout deposits that may have accumulated.

This depends on the type of coating, how well it is maintained and the environment in which the car is stored and driven. For example, coatings like Ceramic Pro form a very strong bond with the vehicle’s paint that, given a good maintenance, can last for a number of years on the car.

Aggressive car washing or automatic car washes will shorten the lifespan of the protective layer. We recommend that you wash your vehicle only with microfiber cloths.

In essence, avoid any object or process with abrasive properties coming into contact with your car’s surface. Also, failing to wash the vehicle on a regular basis can too reduce the performance and durability of the coating.

If you investigate the topic, you will stumble on ceramic coating DIY (Do it Yourself) kits. So, the short answer is – yes, you can try applying ceramic coating on your own. Which begs another logical question. What’s the difference between professionally applied ceramic coatings and DIY kits? Here is the answer – for your convenience, we broke it into separate points:

    • Compared to professional ceramic coatings, DIY kits offer only a fraction of the performance. The former lasts much longer and offers a considerably higher level of protection.

    • You might get lucky while buying a DIY kit. However, there are many sellers on the marketing offering bogus products, or intentionally exaggerating the product’s quality in order to justify the price.

    • When getting your car coated by professionals you get the full package in terms of experience, expertise, equipment and materials. Not only you spare yourself the time, efforts and impossible to avoid newbie mistakes, you will get the high quality you deserve guaranteed by licensed specialists. Yes, you have to be licensed in order to offer professional ceramic coating services, because it’s a science, with lots of variables, human labor and technical procedures involved.

    • The price! Of course, this is the only reason car owners even ask this question. We are going to be straight with you. Professional ceramic coating services are more expensive that DIY kits, by far. The decision is yours; our job is to explain the differences and to deliver premium quality results.
